BMW X2 2024.

The Germans have completely declassified the second generation BMW X2 crossover.

In mid-October twenty-third, the Bavarians officially presented the second-generation BMW X2 all-terrain vehicle, which received the factory index U10.

The model in the new body is now a coupe-shaped crossover, and in terms of exterior design, it largely repeats its younger “brother” — the X1.

However, there are still enough differences between these models. Thus, the headlights of the new product have an additional step between the sections, and the radiator grille attracts attention with wider “nostrils”.

Plus, the X2 received a slightly different shape of the front bumper, as well as a different hood.

In profile, it looks somewhat overweight: the sloping roof does not quite harmoniously combine with the massive “hips”.

The aerodynamic drag coefficient is stated at 0.27.

As for the stern, the crossover received a unique two-block shape of the rear lights — no other modern model of the Bavarian brand has these.

But the interior of the new X2 is the same as that of the “unit”. On a single canopy panel there are curved displays of the virtual instrument panel and multimedia system.

The first of them has a diagonal of 10.25 inches, and the second has a diagonal of 10.7 inches.

This particular entertainment complex runs on the new BMW OS 9.0 shell.

Also, with the change of generations, the car received a miniature gearbox selector (the model will no longer have manual versions).

There is no traditional center console here as such. Instead, there is a huge niche for gadgets.

In turn, the hazard warning and parking brake buttons are located on the center armrest with a console mount.

Compared to the model in the old body, the new BMW X2 U10 turned out to be noticeably larger.

The crossover’s length alone has increased to 4,554 mm (+194), although the wheelbase has only been stretched to 2,692 mm (+22).

The width and height of the car are now 1,845 mm (+ 21) and 1,590 mm (+ 64), respectively.

Ground clearance can vary from 191 to 207 mm (depending on the specific version).

The crossover has the following suspension scheme: MacPherson struts at the front and three-link at the rear. For an additional fee, you can order an adaptive suspension with a ground clearance lowered by 15 mm (it is standard for the M35i variant).

As for the trunk volume, it also varies from modification to modification, “floating” in the range from 515 to 560 liters. The predecessor had a compartment with a capacity of 470 liters.

The X2’s range of power units is quite wide.

Its basic petrol version, sDrive20i, has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine of the B38 family, complemented by a 48-volt starter-generator.

This mild-hybrid modification produces 170 hp. (280 Nm). It has exclusively front-wheel drive.

Next comes the sDrive18d version, which is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder B47 biturbodiesel.

This motor does not have an electric booster and develops 150 forces (350 Nm). This crossover has only front-wheel drive.

The range also includes the xDrive28i variant. It is intended for the North American market and is already equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine producing 244 hp. (400 Nm) and all-wheel drive with a clutch on the rear axle.

The flagship of the line is the warmed-up X2 M35i xDrive, which is also driven by a 2.0-liter B48 turbo-four without a starter-generator.

In the European specification it produces 300 hp, and in the American specification it produces 317 hp. Torque in both cases is 400 Nm.

All listed versions of the model are equipped with a seven-speed robot with two clutches. The crossover will go on sale in March twenty-fourth, and by the summer we can expect another diesel version to appear in the range.

The cost of the all-terrain vehicle has not yet been announced, but it will probably be slightly more expensive than the X1, for which they are now asking from 42,800 euros (4.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
