Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport.

The Germans presented a limited-edition track sports car Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport.

At the Rennsport Reunion 2023 event, Porsche presented the limited-edition 911 GT3 R Rennsport, built on the basis of the racing 911 GT3 R. This car was invented by specialists from the Style Porsche division.

The Germans are positioning the new product as a kind of modern successor to the Porsche 935.

It differs from the donor car in a different carbon fiber body (only the hood and roof were borrowed).

At the front, the sports car received a different bumper with larger air intakes and noticeable flaps. The design of the front wheel arches has also been revised.

Plus, the Germans abandoned standard side mirrors in favor of cameras.

The sirloin part of the limited edition model looks even more impressive. Firstly, there is a massive wing installed here, which in its shape resembles that on the Brumos Porsche 935/77.

Secondly, there is an LED strip across the entire width of the stern, under which an inscription with the name of the German brand also glows.

It is reported that customers will be able to order the two-door in seven different body shades, including “Star Ruby” and “Signal Orange”.

Plus they will be offered three special liveries: Flacht Design (traditional colors of the Porsche Motorsport division), Rennsport Reunion Design (a new variation of the classic scheme) and Speed Icon Design (a combination of several blue shades).

But the interior of the sports car remained almost stock, except that ambient lighting, additional screens for displaying images from external cameras and a roll cage appeared.

There is only one seat, but with a ventilation system. But air conditioning is not on the list of equipment.

The track Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport is powered by a 4.2-liter flat-six.

The power unit here is from a donor model, but it is exempt from any GT3 class racing restrictions.

The engine is capable of spinning up to 9,400 rpm and producing 620 hp. (+ 55).

It is equipped with different pistons and camshafts, and works in conjunction with a six-speed sequential transmission that transmits traction to the rear axle.

The modified engine can be fueled with an E25 ethanol mixture.

The developers don’t talk much about the car’s dynamics, but the maximum speed allegedly increased by 20 km/h (compared to the 911 GT3 R).

Porsche did not touch the chassis, that is, the car still relies on an adjustable racing suspension — with double wishbones at the front and a multi-link at the rear.

The KW shock absorbers used in the design have bypass valves with five levels of compression and rebound. Plus, fine-tuning of the suspension using shims is provided.

The exhaust system of the modification does not have a muffler, due to which a more violent sound of the power plant is achieved, although the developers did provide two “quiet” presets.

The sports car also received a set of custom Michelin Pilot Sport M S9 tires and larger brakes from AP Racing.

Its fuel tank is 117 liters. When equipped, the car weighs only 1,240 kg.

In total, the Germans will produce only 77 of these sports cars. Each of them will cost at least 951,000 euros (98.1 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
