Geely Galaxy E8 2024.

The flagship sedan Geely Galaxy E8 is preparing to start sales.

The new electric four-door received an appearance atypical for other models of the company, and a giant display was installed in the cabin.

At the beginning of this year, the Geely Auto holding announced a new Galaxy series, created exclusively for electrified models.

The first-born was the L7 hybrid crossover, unified with the “traditional” second-generation Geely Boyue (our predecessor is called Atlas Pro).

Then the SUV was joined by the Galaxy L6 hybrid sedan — this is an original car that has no analogues among other Gili products.

And soon customers will be offered a third model – the flagship four-door Galaxy E8. The G8 appeared in the photo of the Ministry of Industry of the People’s Republic of China back in August, but now the manufacturer himself has shared branded images.

The flagship is an electric car, it “grew” from the Galaxy Light concept, which was shown as part of the announcement of the new line.

From the forerunner, the serial sedan inherited head optics of an unusual shape, an aggressive front bumper, rear lights designed in the form of a single die, large wheels and frameless doors.

True, the commercial Galaxy E8 doors, apparently, have classic hinges: the front ones of the show car opened upward, and the rear ones swung open against the direction of travel.

But they retained the luminous nose: many diodes are built into the front bumper; they can greet the owner of the electric car or simply “shimmer.”

The main features in the cabin are a steering wheel instead of a traditional steering wheel and a single display across the entire width of the front panel (screen with 8K resolution).

The Geely Galaxy E8 is based on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, while the Galaxy L6 and Galaxy L7 are built on the E-CMA “cart” (a type of CMA, Compact Modular Architecture).

The length of the flagship four-door is 5010 mm, width – 1920 mm, height – 1465 mm, wheelbase – 2925 mm.

Thus, in terms of its dimensions, the E8 is comparable to the Exeed Sterra ES/Exlantix E03 electric sedan.

The drag coefficient Cd is announced to be only 0.199.

Geely itself has not yet spoken about the technology. In the documents of the Ministry of Industry for the Geely Galaxy E8, one electric motor with a power of 272 hp was stated.

However, it is possible that the sedan will be offered with a dual-engine setup, that is, with all-wheel drive.

The electric car will make its full premiere in the near future; it is expected to go on sale in China before the end of the year. But Geely has not yet announced plans to export Galaxy cars.
