Requiem for an Exorcist: Hennessey Exorcist Camaro ZL1 Final Edition unveiled.

The American tuning studio Hennessey Performance says goodbye to the gasoline muscle car Chevrolet Camaro and presents the latest batch of the Final Edition of the Hennessey Exorcist Camaro ZL1 coupe, it will be produced in an edition of 57 copies.

General Motors Corporation will complete production of the sixth generation Chevrolet Camaro sports car in January next year.

The factory farewell series Collector’s Edition was presented in June, it will include 350 cars in the top-end ZL1 version with a 6.2-liter compressor LT4 V8 (659 hp, 881 Nm).

There won’t be a seventh generation Camaro, at least not with an internal combustion engine, but there may be an electric successor in the future.

Tuners don’t have much to do with electric cars, so the current “sixth” Camaro will most likely be the last for Hennessey Performance.

The American studio first showed the Exorcist version based on the top-end Camaro ZL1 in 2017 on the eve of the debut of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon — it turned out that Hennessey seemed to be driving out the “demon” with its creation.

The Dodge Challenger, by the way, will be discontinued this year; its farewell version was the monstrous drag SRT Demon 170 with a maximum output of 1039 hp. and 1281 Nm, but Hennessey claims that the Exorcist Camaro ZL1 Final Edition is no worse.

Hennessey gave the LT4 V8 a higher-performance supercharger, a larger intercooler, new exhaust and exhaust systems, new fuel injectors, modified cylinder heads with new camshafts and new valves, an improved cooling system and a new control program.

As a result, output increased to 1014 hp. and 1310 Nm. The gearbox is a GM 10-speed hydromechanical “automatic”, all power is transmitted to the rear wheels.

The Exorcist Camaro ZL1 Final Edition accelerates to 60 mph (96.56 km/h) in 2.1 seconds, runs the quarter mile (402 m) in 9.57 seconds, and has a top speed of 349 km/h.

The first-generation Camaro entered the market in 1966, making the model 57 years old this year—a figure reflected in the Hennessey Exorcist, each with a numbered engine plaque and commemorative body graphics.

In addition, the kit includes the original Hennessey aerodynamic body kit and new 19-inch forged wheels. Other modifications can be ordered for an additional fee.
