BMW iX2: electric version of the second generation X2 crossover.

Simultaneously with the premiere of the BMW X2 in the U10 body, the Bavarians also presented an all-electric version of the fresh coupe-shaped crossover — iX2.

The battery modification has a number of visual differences from the regular version of the model.

In particular, the “nostrils” of the radiator grille are plugs, and at the stern there are no exhaust system pipes.

It is reported that the “electric train” has the lowest aerodynamic drag coefficient in the range — 0.25 (- 0.02 compared to fuel variants of the model).

There are no unique features in the iX2’s interior. Like the regular version, there is a canopy panel installed on it with displays of a virtual instrument panel and a multimedia system.

So far, the electric BMW iX2 2024 has been presented in a single variant — xDrive30.

This is a two-engine all-wheel drive modification, the units of which produce a total of 313 hp. (494 Nm).

It is reported that the electric train can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, but its maximum speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h.

The crossover has a traction battery with a capacity of 64.7 kWh. According to the technical data sheet, its full charge should be enough for 493 km of run (according to the WLTP cycle).

Due to the battery located under the floor, the ground clearance of the iX2 is noticeably lower than that of versions with internal combustion engines — 167 mm (for fuel cars the figure varies from 191 to 207 mm).

When using an 11 kW AC charger, it will take 6.5 hours to fully replenish the battery.

If you use a 22 kW charger, the time will be reduced to 3 hours and 45 minutes.

In turn, the DC charger supports power up to 130 kW.

From “fast” stations you can replenish the battery from 10 to 80% in 29 minutes.

The electric iX2 will be produced at a plant in Regensburg (Germany), that is, side by side with the regular X2.

The battery modification will appear on the market simultaneously with the fuel versions, that is, in March twenty-fourth.

At the same time, the Bavarians have already announced that the electric car will not be limited to just one modification — another version will become available for it next summer.

The cost of the electric crossover has not yet been announced, but it should be slightly more expensive than the electric iX1 xDrive 30, for which they are currently asking from 55,000 euros (5.8 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
